AYMC is working on a list of online resources which are relevant to young musicians, particularly in contemporary music. There is a lot out there including databases of contacts, legal advice, fact sheets, plain-english explanations of the technicalities of the music business, marketing advice, and much more. There are now links to over 50 fact sheets and pages with specific information.
Top honours for youth music leaders
Congratulations to some leaders in youth music programs who have been recognised in the 2010 Queens Birthday Honours list.
Mr Leonard Amadio was recognised for his work with the Australian Youth Orchestra as a Director and throughout his long association with the orchestra.
Sandy Evans has been a leader in programs for young women in jazz, particular through the Jazz Improvisation Workshops for Young Women and the Jann Rutherford Memorial Award. Her work as an educator and mentor is influencing a generation of young women in Australian jazz.

The Music Network has released their list of the Top 30 under 30 – ie. the 30 young people (under 30 y.o.) in the Australian music business that are making their mark, although not necessarily in the spotlight.
They include entrepeneurs, label managers, promoters, broadcasters, advocates, and many other things.
